Program Descriptions

Recreational

Where to begin!

Providing an opportunity to learn about artistic swimming this program focuses on skill and routine development at an introductory level. Swimmers must be comfortable swimming in deep water. The program is once a week for 2 hours, plus 1 Saturday a month from mid September to mid May. Participants will swim in the Club’s two water shows in December and May.

Same as above plus one Saturday afternoon a month

Designed to introduce young swimmers to competitive artistic swimming, this program is for ages 5 years of age and older. Swimmers practice 2 times a week for 2 ½ hours each practice plus 1 Saturday practice a month.

Enhanced Novice

Designed to introduce young swimmers to competitive artistic swimming, this program is for ages 8 years of age and older. Swimmers practice 2 times a week for 2 ½ hours each,

1 practice a week for 2 hours for additional skill development, plus 1 Saturday practice a month.

York Artistic Swimming will have a variety of Provincial Teams –

10 & Under, 11-12, 13-15 and 16 - 20 teams if numbers support

the need.

Each team practices 3 times a week, plus 1 Saturday a month.

Ontario Trillium Foundation

ONTARIO TRILLIUM FOUNDATION

In the 2013-2014 swim season, the Ontario Trillium Foundation provided funding in the form of grant money that allowed the club to invest in new underwater training equipment and coach development programs. Through these funds, we have been able to improve the overall coaching program within the club, providing our girls with real-time visual feedback on their performance both above and under the water.

Town of Aurora

TOWN OF AURORA

Provides practice facilities for York Artistic Swimming at the Stronarch Aurora Recreation Center (SARC). The club’s Aurora mailbox is located on the black pillar in the center of the main lobby, across from the reception desk.

Town of Newmarket

TOWN OF NEWMARKET

Provides practice facilities for York Artistic Swimming at the Magna Center located on Mulock Drive. The club also has a small office on the lower level of this facility
